MagiKats Tutoring is reshaping its approach to franchise recruitment by assigning two established franchisees—Katie Christopher and Ronnie Byrne, who operate the Lincoln centre—to lead outreach efforts to potential partners. This move aims to provide prospective franchisees with an authentic perspective grounded in real operational experience.
Sarah Marsh, the company’s Director of Operations, explained that involving existing franchise owners in recruitment strengthens engagement through credibility and trust. She noted that Katie and Ronnie’s enthusiasm and firsthand insights position them as natural ambassadors who can effectively communicate the benefits of joining the MagiKats network.
Katie and Ronnie bring complementary backgrounds to the initiative. Katie began her journey with MagiKats as a university mentor before establishing her own centre in Lincoln alongside Ronnie, who comes from a hospitality and publishing background. Both agree that starting their franchise was facilitated by a combination of structured support and flexibility in the business model, allowing them to adapt their operations as they grew. They emphasize that while teaching experience is helpful, a passion for education and the ability to engage with children are far more important for new recruits.
“We’re excited to be the first port of call for prospective franchisees,” Ronnie said. “Our recent experience starting from scratch positions us to offer realistic guidance and encouragement.” Katie added that MagiKats’ “family-oriented and supportive network” played a key role in their success, highlighting the strength of the franchise package in providing educational programmes, business guidance, and operational systems.
Established for over two decades, MagiKats Tutoring offers small-group workshops in maths and English. The tutoring franchise supports both in-person and remote delivery, operating within defined territories and backed by memberships in the British Franchise Association and The Tutors’ Association. The private tuition market in the UK continues to expand rapidly, reflecting persistent demand for quality educational support.
By strategically involving current franchisees in recruitment, MagiKats is promoting a model that combines credibility with human connection. This approach may redefine franchise recruitment dynamics across sectors, offering a template for cultivating growth through relational engagement rather than conventional marketing.
