For many educators, the idea of running an independent tutoring business is appealing but often feels financially out of reach. MagiKats Tutoring is attempting to change that equation. The long-established education franchise has introduced a support package that reduces the financial barrier for teachers who want to move into entrepreneurship. Qualified educators can receive a 20% reduction on the franchise fee, creating a saving of nearly £2,000.
According to MagiKats director Sarah Marsh, the goal is to make business ownership more accessible for people already passionate about education. “Starting a business can feel like a big leap for teachers, and we want to make that step feel achievable,” she says. While experienced educators bring valuable skills to the network, the company also provides comprehensive training and structured teaching programmes for franchisees who may not come from a traditional teaching background.
The franchise package includes more than a brand name. New owners receive a start up kit worth around £1,000, which provides workshop materials, marketing resources, and access to the company’s proprietary KATS system. The platform contains carefully structured tuition programmes for mathematics and English, allowing franchisees to deliver lessons using a proven curriculum from day one.
Marketing support also forms part of the launch strategy. Franchisees who open their centres before September 2026 will receive matched marketing spend during their first three months of operation. For every pound invested in approved campaigns, the franchisor contributes an additional pound. The aim is to help new operators build visibility quickly and generate early enquiries from parents.
Flexibility is another central feature of the MagiKats model. Tuition centres typically operate after school hours or on weekends, enabling many franchisees to continue working while building their businesses. Because centres often run from community venues rather than dedicated retail spaces, start up costs remain relatively low. The option to offer both in person and online tuition further expands the reach of each centre.
Founded by sisters Sarah and Emma, MagiKats has spent more than two decades developing structured learning programmes designed to help children build confidence and independence in their studies. As demand for supplementary education continues to grow, the company is seeking franchise partners who share its commitment to supporting students and families through high quality tutoring.
