Consolidated Cleaners has expanded its footprint in the Cincinnati market with the acquisition of seven Widmer’s Cleaners locations, strengthening its position as one of the region’s leading garment care operators. The move brings a long established local brand into the Tide Cleaners network while preserving the customer relationships and service standards that have defined Widmer’s for generations.
Robert Lyons, president of Consolidated Cleaners, said the company is committed to honoring Widmer’s legacy by maintaining familiar teams and continuing the personal service that customers expect. He emphasized that the goal is not only growth, but also continuity, ensuring that long time clients feel confident their garments remain in trusted hands.
Emily Schneider, vice president of franchise development at Tide Services, praised Consolidated Cleaners for its strong local reputation and operational discipline. She noted that the company’s experience makes it well positioned to integrate the new locations into the Tide Cleaners system while keeping service standards consistent across all stores.
The acquired locations will transition to the Tide Cleaners brand with upgraded operational support, enhanced communication tools, and standardized systems designed to improve efficiency and customer experience. Existing employees will remain in place, allowing customers to continue working with familiar faces while benefiting from expanded brand resources.
With more than forty locations across multiple markets, Consolidated Cleaners continues to demonstrate how regional operators can scale responsibly while protecting community trust. The Widmer’s acquisition reflects a broader trend of consolidation in the garment care industry, where growth is increasingly paired with preservation of local service culture.
