Dallas-based Bloomin' Blinds has announced a strategic partnership with Sol-Lux, significantly expanding its product offerings to include premium motorized outdoor shading solutions across its franchise network. The collaboration introduces Sol-Lux's comprehensive line of retractable awnings and drop screens to Bloomin' Blinds locations nationwide.
As part of this agreement, Bloomin' Blinds franchisees will now offer Sol-Lux's premium lineup of motorized outdoor shading products, including Mirage and Freedom motorized patio awnings, EOS autonomous window awnings, and MiraSol motorized drop screens for patios and pergolas. These products complement the company's existing interior window treatment services and position franchisees to serve the expanding outdoor living market.
"This partnership is all about empowering our franchisees with the tools they need to grow," said Jeff Wharton, CEO of Bloomin' Blinds. "By adding Sol-Lux's proven exterior shading products to our lineup, we're giving owners access to a high-demand category backed by decades of innovation and quality." Wharton, who was appointed CEO in August 2024, has focused on expanding the franchise system's capabilities and revenue opportunities.
The Sol-Lux product line features advanced automation technology, including solar-powered systems and weather-responsive controls. The Mirage model provides coverage spanning up to 21 feet wide and 12 feet long, while the Freedom awning offers solar-charged, battery-operated functionality with up to 15 feet of shade protection. The EOS window awning system operates autonomously through solar power, extending and retracting based on sun detection.
This partnership aligns with Bloomin' Blinds' established service model, which emphasizes in-home consultations and comprehensive customer support. The company's repair-first approach to service and focus on high-quality solutions extends naturally to outdoor shading products, providing homeowners with energy-efficient options that reduce cooling costs while enhancing outdoor living spaces.
Steve Brous, Sol-Lux's National Sales Manager, highlighted the strategic value of the partnership for both companies. The collaboration leverages Bloomin' Blinds' established customer relationships and proven franchise model while giving Sol-Lux broader market access through a trusted distribution network.
The outdoor shading market represents significant growth potential for Bloomin' Blinds franchisees, offering higher-margin products that complement existing window treatment services. Homeowners increasingly invest in outdoor living improvements, creating demand for automated shading solutions that provide both comfort and energy efficiency benefits.
Bloomin' Blinds operates franchise locations across the United States, serving residential and commercial customers with custom window treatments and related services. The company's business model combines national brand recognition with local market expertise, supported by comprehensive training and operational support systems for franchisees.
The Sol-Lux partnership represents the latest expansion in Bloomin' Blinds' product portfolio, following the company's ongoing evolution from a family-operated business into a comprehensive franchise system. These strategic additions provide franchisees with diversified revenue streams and enhanced competitive positioning in local markets.
