Beefy’s Pies has taken a major step in its national expansion with the opening of its first Gold Coast store in Coolangatta. The launch marks the brand’s 14th location and the fifth to open since Retail Food Group acquired Beefy’s nearly two years ago. For a company that built its reputation on the quintessential Australian meat pie, the move signals growing demand well beyond its Queensland base.
A second Gold Coast location is already on the horizon. Scheduled to open in Oxenford next month, it will add momentum to Beefy’s ambitious plan to reach 50 stores by 2028. The rollout reflects a deliberate strategy by Retail Food Group to strengthen Beefy’s presence in high-demand areas, extending its reach across South-East Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
Taylor Sneddon, Beefy’s brand manager, said the launch had been driven by consumer demand. “We’ve had so many requests to bring Beefy’s to the Gold Coast, and we’re excited to share our pies with a whole new community,” she said. The Coolangatta store will offer the full Beefy’s menu alongside its award-winning coffee, serving customers daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The numbers suggest the strategy is paying off. Beefy’s Pies reported $21.2 million in revenue for FY25, alongside network sales growth of 16.6 percent and a 5.1 percent increase in same-store sales. More than 1.3 million pies were sold over the year, a sign that the brand’s popularity shows no sign of cooling.
Beyond Coolangatta, Beefy’s footprint already stretches from Cannon Hill and Capalaba in Brisbane to Toowoomba, Gympie, and Ballina. A Morayfield location is slated to open later this month, further consolidating the brand’s position across the region.
The expansion comes as Retail Food Group seeks to balance its broader portfolio by investing in high-performing brands. With its loyal customer base, strong financials, and growing regional demand, Beefy’s Pies is emerging as one of the group’s most promising growth engines. For Gold Coast locals, it means something simpler: a new place to enjoy a flaky, hearty pie baked fresh each day.
