In a major move for the fast-casual dining industry, B Wild Investments, through its affiliate 7 Star Restaurants, has acquired a 20-unit portfolio of Qdoba Mexican Eats locations from a longtime franchise owner. The transaction includes sixteen restaurants across Colorado’s Western Slope and four more in the Anchorage area of Alaska. The acquisition instantly positions B Wild as one of Qdoba’s largest franchise partners, strengthening its presence across the western United States.
For Barry Dubin, founder and chief executive of B Wild Investments, the deal represents both a milestone and a statement of intent. “Finalizing this deal marks a defining moment for me and my team,” Dubin said. “We are excited to expand into new territories while honoring the legacy of those who built these restaurants.” The company now plans to operate a total of seventy Qdoba locations across Alaska, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah, combining newly acquired restaurants with an existing 50-unit development agreement.
Dubin is no stranger to large-scale growth. Before founding B Wild Investments, he co-founded KBP Brands, a restaurant group that grew to more than 1,000 locations. He also serves as executive chairman of US Laundry, the country’s largest Tide Laundromat franchisee. His experience in building, scaling, and managing multi-unit businesses has made him a sought-after figure in the franchising industry.
Qdoba’s Chief Development Officer, Jeremy Vitaro, praised the partnership, saying that the brand is “thrilled to have Barry expand his business portfolio with us and continue building on Qdoba’s strong growth trajectory.” With more than 820 restaurants currently open and hundreds more planned, Qdoba is cementing its reputation as one of the fastest-growing brands in the fast-casual dining sector.
For investors and franchise observers, the acquisition reflects a growing trend toward consolidation and multi-unit expansion in the restaurant industry. By acquiring established operations and committing to new development, B Wild Investments is helping to propel Qdoba’s ambitious expansion strategy. The transaction underscores the confidence experienced operators have in the brand’s long-term potential and in the enduring appeal of its fresh, customizable menu.
