After nearly a decade focused on raising her son, Pam Bartlett rediscovered her artistic passion through a simple paint-and-sip class. That outing would prove transformative, inspiring her to open the first Pinot’s Palette franchise in Illinois in 2013. Today, her Naperville studio has grown into a thriving seven-figure business, and Pam is a respected community leader.
Her corporate past provided stability but lacked creative fulfillment. The fun of that evening with a paintbrush in hand ignited her entrepreneurial flame. “It brought together everything I loved: creativity, people, and meaningful experiences,” she says. The structured systems and brand strength of Pinot’s Palette gave Pam the confidence she needed—even as a first-time business owner—to take control of her career.
Pam’s studio isn’t just a place to paint while sipping wine—it’s woven deeply into the fabric of Naperville. Her calendar is packed with creative community events, from Halloween blacklight painting sessions to free painting booths at summer concerts. Her civic engagement earned her recognition as a Naperville Riverwalk Commissioner and accolades from the mayor for community leadership. She also received the Rotary’s Paul Harris Fellow Award for service.
Of course, challenges have cropped up along the way. Business planning can only go so far when unexpected obstacles arise. “You can try to plan out your day or business plan as best as you can, but sometimes things go unexpectedly,” Pam reflects. Her ability to pivot and adapt has become a hallmark of her leadership style.
Pam’s franchise success underscores the power of combining strong franchisor systems with personal passion, community connection, and creative programming. Her studio culture is welcoming and dynamic—proof that entrepreneurship, when blended with creativity and community, can flourish.
