Ziebart has launched a digital check-in app designed to make customer arrivals faster and give franchise teams a clearer picture of each vehicle's service needs. The system allows customers to confirm appointment details and specify requested services while pulling vehicle information through a vehicle identification number, license plate or Carfax scan. The aim is to reduce repetitive questions at the counter and help employees begin each visit with relevant information already available.
The app also supports a digital walkaround, allowing team members to document a vehicle's condition through photos and video stored in the cloud. Those records can help customers understand the work being recommended, the expected service timeline and the next steps. Christopher Boulos, Manager of Ziebart of Utica, said having the relevant information upfront creates more room for meaningful conversations and helps employees explain recommendations in ways that build trust.
For franchise owners, the company says the system reduces manual data entry and printing while improving visibility into daily appointments and service-bay capacity. Ziebart estimates that eliminating these administrative steps could save roughly 15 minutes per customer interaction. Actual savings may vary with appointment volume, staffing and store procedures, but even modest reductions in intake time could give teams more flexibility during busy periods.
Larry Stewart, Ziebart's Vice President of Information Technology, said the app was designed to keep employees focused on customers rather than screens and paperwork. Jason Theisen, senior vice president of U.S. franchise operations, described the launch as part of the company's broader investment in technology intended to improve customer experience and support franchise performance. Founded in 1959, Ziebart operates more than 400 locations across its international network.
As franchise networks adopt digital processes, appointment coordination and consistent service intake remain important operational priorities. Gorilla Dash offers an Appointments feature that can help businesses organize scheduling and coordinate workflows across locations. Ziebart's new app addresses a specific point in the customer journey, with the broader goal of making check-in more transparent and allowing employees to spend less time on administration and more time helping customers make informed service decisions.
