Voodoo Brewing Co. has opened its newest brewpub in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina, under the leadership of Jonathan and Melissa Stamper. After a 25-year career in the Marine Corps, Jonathan Stamper has shifted from military service to entrepreneurship, hoping to channel his skills into building a gathering place for his community. Melissa Stamper, who brings strong business experience, has joined him in shaping a venture that blends camaraderie with craft beer.
The Stampers envision their brewpub as more than a business. They describe it as a local staple designed to bring people together, with an atmosphere that welcomes both families and veterans. “We’re not chasing after riches; our mission is larger,” Jonathan Stamper said, emphasizing their goal of creating a space rooted in connection rather than profit.
The new location features an eclectic menu alongside Voodoo Brewing’s well-known craft beers. Guests can expect a culinary offering that is both creative and approachable, designed to complement the brewery’s bold, flavor-driven style. The setting is intended to balance energy and warmth, appealing to locals who want more than just a place to drink.
Andrew Volanski, senior director of operations at Voodoo Brewing Co., praised the Sneads Ferry opening, calling it another step in the company’s mission to bring community-focused brewpubs to new markets. “Each location is a chance to foster connection and joy,” Volanski said, noting the brand’s commitment to individuality in its franchise model.
The choice of Sneads Ferry as a location was both strategic and personal. The Stampers’ ties to the military community, combined with their commitment to family-friendly values, made the coastal town a natural fit. Their goal is to create a space that reflects both the character of the region and the principles that guided Jonathan’s years of service.
Voodoo Brewing Co., founded in 2005, has become a recognized name in the craft beer world, known for its rebellious branding and emphasis on community. With the opening of the Sneads Ferry brewpub, the company continues to expand its franchise footprint while ensuring that each location maintains a distinctive, locally grounded identity.
