Hartford’s manufacturing and maker communities have a new reason to celebrate with the opening of a Metal Supermarkets location, led by local entrepreneur Devra Sisitsky. This new store marks a significant addition to the region’s industrial ecosystem, offering a wide selection of metal types, shapes, and grades—available in any quantity and cut to customer specifications.
Sisitsky brings over two decades of leadership and business development experience to the role, including her work as a healthcare consultant responsible for launching 32 startup facilities. Most recently, she served as Executive Director at MakerspaceCT, a well-known innovation hub in downtown Hartford, where she recognized the strong demand for accessible and reliable metal supply services.
"Creating meaningful, trust-based relationships coupled with reliable service will be the key to success in Hartford," said Sisitsky, emphasizing her commitment to supporting both individual creators and businesses.
Backed by the nationally recognized Metal Supermarkets brand, the new Hartford store will cater to a wide customer base, from industrial manufacturers to small business owners, artists, and hobbyists. The shop provides over 8,000 metal products and services, including precision cutting, bending, and drilling.
Stephen Schober, President and CEO of Metal Supermarkets, praised the new leadership, stating, "Devra’s career accomplishments driven by an unwavering entrepreneurial spirit are impressive. We’re excited to have her leading this location."
As the latest addition to Hartford’s growing maker and manufacturing infrastructure, Metal Supermarkets aims to deliver convenience, quality, and expert support to customers across the region.
