Texas Roadhouse has opened its first standalone restaurant in South Korea, marking a notable step in the company’s international growth strategy. The new flagship location began operations on April 28 in Seoul’s Jamsil district, a high-traffic commercial area known for retail, entertainment, and steady consumer demand.
Located in Bangi-dong, Songpa-gu, the restaurant spans approximately 505 square meters and seats around 200 guests. The larger format gives Texas Roadhouse a stronger street-level presence after previously operating only inside outlet centers and department stores. The move reflects a broader strategy to increase visibility and deepen customer engagement in competitive urban markets.
Texas Roadhouse entered South Korea in 2020 through a partnership with Hyundai Green Food. Since then, the brand has expanded to six locations across Songdo, Gimpo, Pangyo, Jungdong, and Daegu. The Jamsil opening is the company’s first move beyond the mall-based model, signaling confidence in standalone expansion as consumer awareness continues to grow.
To support the launch, the company introduced menu additions including Pulled Pork Nachos, Honey Lime Chicken, and Chimichurri Smother sauce. Opening promotions were also rolled out to generate early traffic and establish momentum in one of Seoul’s busiest dining districts.
Founded in Indiana in 1993, Texas Roadhouse now operates more than 800 restaurants across 11 countries. The Seoul flagship highlights how established U.S. restaurant brands continue to use international markets as a source of long-term growth and brand development.
For franchise businesses planning similar expansion strategies, platforms such as Gorilla Dash Branded Stores can help organize store launches, maintain brand consistency, and track multi-location growth activity. Tools that support operational visibility are increasingly valuable as restaurant brands scale across cities and international markets.
