Snap Fitness is strengthening its expansion plans across the United Kingdom and Ireland through a newly announced partnership with NatWest. The high street bank has been approved as a preferred finance provider for the gym franchise, a move designed to make ownership more accessible for entrepreneurs and existing operators. The agreement enables eligible franchisees to borrow up to 70 percent of their start-up costs, with funding also available for refurbishments and upgrades of current locations.
The collaboration stems from discussions between Snap Fitness’s Director of Finance, Rene Swart, and NatWest’s business banking team. According to both parties, the brand’s consistent profitability, operational performance, and member retention rates played a major role in gaining lender confidence. By aligning with one of the country’s most recognized banks, Snap Fitness is offering a clear route to capital for those eager to enter the fitness sector or expand their footprint within it.
Kevin Yates, Chief Executive Officer of Snap Fitness EMEA, described the partnership as a major step toward increasing accessibility and growth within the brand’s network. “The abundance of funding paths enhances our franchise opportunity accessibility,” he said, noting that the timing is ideal as more investors look to health and wellness as a sustainable business model.
Snap Fitness currently operates more than 100 clubs across the UK and Ireland and aims to add at least 20 new sites within the next year. The addition of NatWest to its roster of finance partners, alongside lenders such as HSBC and several brokerage firms, broadens the support structure available to franchisees. This expanded access to funding is expected to accelerate the brand’s expansion in both urban and suburban markets.
For aspiring gym owners, the agreement marks a welcome shift in how fitness franchising is financed in the post-pandemic economy. With flexible funding and a proven brand reputation, Snap Fitness is positioning itself as one of the most attainable franchise opportunities in the health and wellness space. As the fitness industry continues to evolve, this partnership could set a precedent for how franchisors and financial institutions collaborate to foster sustainable growth.
