The Red Chickz is spreading its wings in Northern California with the opening of a new location in Woodland. The hot chicken brand will celebrate its arrival with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Woodland Chamber of Commerce, setting the stage for a festive grand opening that blends food, family, and community spirit.
Guests arriving early will have more than just the thrill of a new restaurant to look forward to. The first 150 attendees will be treated to a complimentary Honey Butter Sandwich with any purchase, while weekend visitors will enjoy a 25 percent discount on their orders. The celebration promises to showcase both the brand’s signature hospitality and its fiery take on Nashville hot chicken.
Leading the new location are Danny and Kathy Lisath, a husband-and-wife team whose journey began in the U.S. Army. Veterans turned entrepreneurs, the Lisaths said they were drawn to The Red Chickz by its bold flavors and flexible concept. “While we are new to franchising, we knew going in that we wanted to invest in a hot chicken concept,” said Kathy Lisath, noting the appeal of menu favorites like Nashville Hot Chicken Tacos and customizable spice levels.
For the couple, the restaurant is about more than just food. Their military background has instilled in them a strong sense of discipline and service, which they hope to carry into their new venture. “We’re excited to serve the Woodland community with the same dedication we brought to our military careers,” Danny Lisath said.
The Red Chickz’s co-founder and chief executive, Shawn Lalehzarian, described Woodland as an ideal fit for the growing chain. “This is the perfect place to bring our chicken to even more Californians,” he said, citing the town’s welcoming neighborhoods and strong community identity.
The Woodland opening adds another milestone to The Red Chickz’s expansion strategy, which has focused on building a strong presence in California before venturing further afield. The Lisaths’ debut as franchisees reflects the brand’s emphasis on local ownership and community-driven growth.
With the ribbon set to be cut and the fryers ready to sizzle, The Red Chickz is preparing to deliver both flavor and festivity to Woodland. If early excitement is any indication, the latest location is poised to become a gathering spot where Southern spice meets Northern California charm.
