Pret A Manger is expanding its footprint across the United Kingdom by entering motorway service locations through a partnership with Roadchef. The move reflects a strategic effort to bring its established offering of fresh food and organic coffee to high-traffic travel environments, where convenience and quality are increasingly in demand.
The first of these locations opened at Rownhams Westbound Services on the M27 on March 20, marking the beginning of a broader rollout across key motorway routes. Additional openings at Stafford Southbound Services on the M6 and Chester Services on the M56 followed in the days after, forming part of a coordinated expansion across three sites.
These new outlets are expected to create approximately 30 jobs, contributing to local employment while enhancing the food and beverage options available to travelers. Each location offers Pret’s core menu, including freshly prepared sandwiches, salads, hot meals, snacks, and baked goods, alongside a range of organic coffee and beverages designed for customers on the move.
The expansion also incorporates the brand’s loyalty program, with Club Pret members receiving discounted barista-made drinks at these motorway sites. This integration reinforces Pret’s broader strategy of maintaining customer engagement while adapting its model to new environments.
By moving into motorway service areas, Pret A Manger is aligning itself with evolving consumer expectations for higher-quality dining options during travel. As competition intensifies in the convenience-led foodservice sector, the brand’s presence in these locations signals a continued push toward accessibility without compromising its core offering.
