PJ’s Coffee is giving National Coffee Day a distinctly New Orleans treatment by extending the celebration across the entire month of September. The New Orleans-born coffee brand has launched a series of weekly offers, app-exclusive promotions and a sweepstakes tied to a getaway for two, turning a single calendar date into a broader customer engagement campaign.
Beginning September 1, customers can enter the “Sip Your Way to a New Orleans Experience” sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip for two during the 2027 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Zurich Classic. The prize package includes round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, dining credit, a private tour of PJ’s Coffee’s roasting facility and tickets to both events. The sweepstakes runs through September 30.
The promotional calendar also gives customers reasons to return throughout the month. PJ’s Coffee is offering a free 12-ounce drip coffee with the purchase of a bag of whole bean coffee in stores all month. App-exclusive promotions begin September 8 with $1 off handcrafted espresso beverages, followed by a $5.04 offer on a 24-ounce Iced New Orleans Favorite on September 15 and $2 off select frozen beverages during a September 22 happy hour. On September 29, National Coffee Day, customers can receive a free 12-ounce hot drip coffee or 16-ounce cold brew with any food purchase.
For franchise operators, the campaign illustrates how a single seasonal occasion can support a sequence of coordinated promotions rather than a one-day discount. Gorilla Dash includes a Competitions and Promotions feature that can help franchise teams organize offers, coordinate campaign details and maintain consistency across locations. Used alongside a broader digital strategy, these tools can make recurring promotions easier to manage as brands build engagement around seasonal moments.
The campaign also reinforces PJ’s Coffee’s connection to New Orleans, where the company was founded in 1978 by Phyllis Jordan. Today, the brand continues to build its identity around small-batch roasting and the flavors and traditions associated with its home city. With National Coffee Day serving as the centerpiece, PJ’s Coffee is using September to connect its product, promotions and New Orleans heritage in one extended customer experience.
