Newk's Eatery Opens Doors to Flavor in Wichita

Newk’s Eatery is preparing to open its first Kansas location on December 10 at The Waterfront on Wichita’s East Side. The restaurant will offer seating for 146 guests and feature a large mural of the Wichita flag, creating a warm and inviting environment for diners. From the outset, the venue is designed to balance a lively atmosphere with comfortable, community-focused dining.

The opening festivities will begin with a VIP event on December 6, leading up to a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on launch day. To celebrate, the first 100 guests will receive either a complimentary slice of cake or a refreshing drink. These gestures reflect the brand’s emphasis on hospitality and its desire to make a memorable first impression on the local community.

Franchise owner Melody Matulewic expressed her excitement about bringing Newk’s Eatery to Wichita. She said the team has been anticipating this opening for a long time and hopes the community will connect with the restaurant’s focus on service and carefully prepared meals. The restaurant will operate daily from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., serving lunch, dinner, and take-home meals.
