Mokas Coffee & Eatery is expanding into Missouri through a new development agreement that calls for nine locations across the state, marking a significant milestone in the company's franchise growth strategy. Six of the planned cafés are expected to serve communities within the Missouri side of the Kansas City metropolitan area, extending the brand's reach beyond its long-established Kansas roots.
The expansion is being led by Jason Ingermanson, whose company, JRI Hospitality, has spent more than two decades building the Mokas brand. Ingermanson said the company aims to bring its hospitality-driven approach to Missouri while partnering with entrepreneurs interested in creating community gathering spaces centered around coffee and food.
Mokas has differentiated itself through a menu that extends beyond traditional coffee offerings. In addition to serving house-roasted coffee, the cafés offer smoothies, energy beverages, sandwiches, wraps and salads, positioning the brand as an all-day destination for customers seeking both convenience and variety.
The Missouri development agreement reflects growing interest in franchise opportunities within the food and beverage sector, particularly among brands focused on regional expansion. As franchise systems add new locations and operators, maintaining consistent training and operational standards becomes increasingly important. Solutions such as Gorilla Dash Knowledge Base can help franchisors centralize procedures, onboarding materials and operational guidance across expanding networks.
For Mokas, the latest agreement represents a strategic step toward broader market penetration while preserving the neighborhood atmosphere that has defined the brand since its founding. With new franchise opportunities emerging in Missouri, the company is positioning itself for sustained growth while introducing its café concept to a wider customer base.
