The fast casual chain opens its first traditional Minnesota restaurant with free burritos, local ownership and plans for continued regional expansion.

  • Moe's Southwest Grill opens its first traditional location in Woodbury, MN.
  • Moe's offers a year of free burritos to first 50 guests on opening day.
  • Local entrepreneur Satnam Dhillon leads the Twin Cities expansion.

Moe's Southwest Grill is expanding its Midwest footprint with the opening of its first traditional restaurant in the Twin Cities. Located at 6671 Valley Creek Road in Woodbury, Minnesota, the restaurant officially opens on September 4, marking the brand's first standalone location in the state after years of serving travelers through Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. To celebrate the milestone, the first 50 guests in line will receive free burritos for a year, along with additional giveaways throughout the grand opening.

The new restaurant is owned and operated by local entrepreneur Satnam Dhillon, whose background in business consulting and supply chain strategy inspired him to pursue franchise ownership. Dhillon said Moe's emphasis on fresh, customizable meals and welcoming hospitality made it the right concept to introduce to the Twin Cities. The Woodbury opening is expected to be the first of multiple locations in the region, with another restaurant already planned for Apple Valley.

Tatiana Lambert, Chief Development Officer at GoTo Foods, said the Twin Cities represents an ideal market for the brand's continued growth, citing strong consumer demand for convenient dining options that offer both quality and customization. In addition to dine-in service, the restaurant will provide takeout, catering, online ordering and third-party delivery, giving customers multiple ways to enjoy the Moe's experience.

As franchise brands establish new locations, keeping teams aligned with the latest operating procedures becomes increasingly important. The Resource Library feature in Gorilla Dash provides a centralized location for training materials, operational guides and brand documentation, helping franchise teams access essential information more efficiently during expansion. With consistent resources available across every location, operators can better support onboarding while maintaining brand standards as their networks continue to grow.
