Koala Insulation has appointed Joel Worthington as Brand President, placing a veteran franchise executive at the center of its next phase of growth. The Richmond-based insulation franchise said Worthington will oversee strategic direction, franchise development, and operational initiatives as the company continues expanding its national footprint.
Worthington brings more than two decades of experience in franchising, including leadership roles in the home-services industry. Before entering franchising, he served as a senior pastor, a background he says shaped his approach to leadership by emphasizing listening, communication, and relationship-building.
Most recently, Worthington held a leadership position with Mr. Electric, where he worked on franchise development and operational support. Koala Insulation executives said that experience made him a strong fit for a brand that is investing heavily in training, technology, and franchisee support as demand for energy-efficiency services continues to rise.
Koala Insulation specializes in spray foam and blanket insulation for residential properties, and the company has been expanding across multiple U.S. markets. Industry analysts say insulation remains a relatively resilient home-services category because of continued consumer interest in energy savings, comfort, and home performance improvements.
Worthington said his immediate focus will be helping franchise owners grow sustainably while maintaining service quality across the system. He also emphasized the importance of building a strong support structure for operators as the network scales.
For growing franchise systems, consistent training and operational guidance become increasingly important as new locations are added. Through Gorilla Dash, brands can centralize manuals, onboarding resources, and support materials in a shared Knowledge Base, helping franchise owners access the information they need while maintaining more consistent standards across the network.
