Jersey Mike's Subs has appointed Andrew “Andy” Skehan as President of International, marking a significant step in the company’s plan to expand its presence beyond the United States. Skehan brings more than two decades of global leadership experience, and his arrival signals the brand’s intention to strengthen its position in international markets. The company views this appointment as the beginning of a broader global strategy aimed at elevating its fresh sub concept in regions where demand for American fast-casual dining continues to grow.
In his new role, Skehan will guide the company’s international growth strategy with a focus on Canada and the United Kingdom. Jersey Mike’s has already partnered with Redberry Restaurants to open hundreds of locations in Canada over the next decade, demonstrating the brand’s appetite for long-term development across multiple markets. CEO Charlie Morrison expressed confidence in Skehan’s ability to handle this expansion, noting that his leadership in global operations is well aligned with the company’s goals for its next phase of growth.
Skehan’s background includes executive roles at Home Franchise Concepts, Krispy Kreme, and Popeyes, where he helped scale operations and develop strong international footprints. His earlier leadership experience at Wendy’s and Arby’s International adds further depth to his understanding of franchise systems and multinational operations. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy with an MBA from the University of Rhode Island, he is recognized for a disciplined and strategic approach to building global teams and executing long-term development plans.
As Jersey Mike’s accelerates its international ambitions, Skehan has expressed enthusiasm for introducing the brand’s signature menu and service culture to new audiences. He believes the company’s emphasis on fresh ingredients and community-focused hospitality gives it universal appeal. With new markets on the horizon and a leadership team unified around growth, Jersey Mike’s is positioning itself for a larger global footprint that could reshape its competitive standing in the international fast-casual landscape.
