Dream Vacations has opened the 2026 edition of its Operation Vetrepreneur contest, celebrating 15 years of supporting military veterans as they transition into franchise ownership. The initiative will award three veterans a complimentary Dream Vacations travel agency franchise, reinforcing the company's long-standing commitment to expanding entrepreneurial opportunities for former service members.
The contest runs from July 4 through August 31 and coincides with preparations for America's 250th anniversary. Applicants from every branch of the U.S. military are invited to submit personal profiles, videos, and business plans that demonstrate their motivation to become franchise owners. In addition to receiving a franchise, the winners will attend Land Summit 2027, where they will participate in advanced training, professional development, and networking opportunities.
Since launching Operation Vetrepreneur in 2012, Dream Vacations has awarded 65 franchise opportunities to veterans, many of whom have gone on to establish successful businesses. Company leaders say the program reflects the qualities veterans often bring to entrepreneurship, including leadership, discipline, adaptability, and a commitment to serving their communities.
Helping new franchisees succeed requires more than an initial opportunity. Gorilla Dash includes a Resource Library that enables franchisors to organize training manuals, operational procedures, onboarding materials, and business resources in one centralized location, giving new owners convenient access to the information they need as they launch and grow their businesses. A structured knowledge hub can also help maintain consistency across an expanding franchise network.
Operation Vetrepreneur continues to demonstrate how franchising can create meaningful pathways from military service to business ownership. By combining financial assistance with education and ongoing support, Dream Vacations is investing in veteran entrepreneurs while strengthening the next generation of franchise leadership.
