The fast-growing pan-Asian brand launches its first city centre outlet, creating 20 new jobs and strengthening its UK footprint
Chopstix has officially opened its first city centre outlet in Colchester, located on Culver Street West. The launch introduces the popular pan-Asian fast-casual concept to the heart of the city and represents the brand’s latest step in UK expansion. The new location offers customers a modern dining experience while supporting 20 new local jobs, providing a tangible boost to the community.
The Colchester outlet follows Chopstix’s recent international debut in Paris and its previous Essex opening in Basildon, highlighting the chain’s commitment to growth in high-footfall locations. The new store reflects the brand’s distinctive Scandinavian-inspired design, creating a vibrant space for dine-in, takeaway, and delivery customers.
The expansion is backed by strategic investment from European quick-service operator QSRP, which has supported Chopstix in scaling its operations and entering new markets. This investment underlines confidence in the brand’s ability to compete in the increasingly competitive fast-casual sector, both in the UK and abroad.
Local employment benefits are a key part of this launch. The new Colchester location has created a variety of positions, ranging from front-of-house staff to kitchen and management roles. For the community, the opening provides both job opportunities and a fresh dining option, contributing to the city centre’s economic vitality.
With its continued UK rollout, Chopstix is positioning itself as a leading pan-Asian franchise that balances brand consistency with local engagement. The Colchester store reinforces the chain’s strategy of targeting high-traffic urban areas while offering an accessible and quality dining experience to a growing customer base.
