Chicken Salad Chick is deepening its roots in New Mexico with the opening of a second Albuquerque location at Winrock Town Center, offering another taste of the brand’s signature Southern hospitality. The move comes just months after the brand’s debut in the city and reflects the strong community response to its first restaurant.
The new opening is set to celebrate in true Chicken Salad Chick fashion, with giveaways and promotions designed to bring customers through the door. The first 100 guests in line will receive free chicken salad for a year, a tradition that has become a hallmark of the brand’s launch events. Early arrivals can expect long lines as devoted fans look to secure their share of the prize.
Throughout the week, the Winrock Town Center location will host a series of themed specials, pairing meals with branded merchandise and rewards for repeat visits. It is a strategy that blends fun with loyalty, creating not just a dining occasion but a memorable community experience.
Behind this expansion are Jennifer Sanchez and Keith Murray, who have emerged as local champions of the brand. Sanchez, once a franchise business consultant, saw an opportunity to bring Chicken Salad Chick back to her home state. Together with Murray, she opened their first Albuquerque location earlier this year, which quickly gained traction with guests seeking hearty food and a welcoming atmosphere.
“We’re proud of our amazing team, who show up every day to create memorable experiences,” Sanchez said in a statement ahead of the new launch. For her, the success has been as much about people as it has been about food.
Scott Deviney, president and CEO of Chicken Salad Chick, underscored that sentiment, pointing to Albuquerque’s energy as an ideal backdrop for the growing brand. “We’re excited to continue growing alongside Jennifer,” he said, adding that Winrock Town Center’s location was a natural fit for the concept’s expansion.
The new restaurant will also strengthen the brand’s ties to the community. Sanchez and Murray have partnered with the St. Felix Pantry, contributing to its efforts to provide more than 1,000 meals each week to families in need. Their participation is part of a broader initiative by the Chicken Salad Chick Foundation to give back to local communities while expanding the brand’s footprint.
With a second location now open, Albuquerque diners can expect more than just fresh chicken salad. They will find a gathering place where tradition, hospitality, and community spirit come together in a way that has made Chicken Salad Chick one of the fastest-growing names in the fast casual space.
