Bubbakoo's Burritos opened its newest Maryland restaurant on Friday, October 2, at 16822 Georgia Ave. in Olney, just steps from Roots Market. The restaurant is locally owned and operated by Amarvir Brar and serves guests daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. It is the brand's first standalone restaurant in Montgomery County, following a food stall inside the Market Hall at Clarksburg Premium Outlets that opened in November 2025.
To mark the opening, the first 50 guests who made a qualifying purchase received a year's supply of free burritos, which works out to one free burrito per month for 12 months. Beyond the giveaway, the menu centers on customizable burritos, bowls, tacos and quesadillas, along with signature items such as the Chiwawa, a lightly fried, panko-crusted cheesy rice ball, and Killer Creations in flavors like Honey Sriracha and Nashville Hot. The Olney menu also includes the Southwest Chicken Shredder, a new Signature Creation inspired by the brand's skateboarding roots, which arrives as shredded chicken returns to Bubbakoo's menus nationwide this October.
Brar said he is eager to introduce the community to a concept that stands out for its variety, creativity and the freedom to make every meal your own. He described the site as surrounded by families, shoppers and people traveling through the area, and said he hopes the restaurant becomes a convenient go-to for the neighborhood. Chris Ives, CEO of Bubbakoo's Burritos, called Olney an exciting chance to introduce the brand to more guests in Maryland and to connect with local residents and commuters along Georgia Avenue, bringing the flavors, creativity and customization the brand is known for to a populous market.
The opening followed a longer road than most. Bubbakoo's signed on for the Olney space in mid-2025, taking over a storefront that had been expected to house a ramen restaurant, and in late 2025 the company told local reporters the restaurant was still coming, with an opening aimed for sometime in 2026 after the coming-soon signage came down.
