The Scottish delivery chain's biggest regional push yet will bring four locations to Newcastle alone and create around 120 jobs.

  • Boss Pizza plans to open 10 new locations in the North East.
  • Four restaurants planned for Newcastle as part of expansion.
  • The expansion will create approximately 120 jobs across new stores.

Boss Pizza is planning to open 10 new restaurants across the North East of England, marking the brand's largest single regional expansion to date. The rollout will bring four locations to Newcastle alone, alongside new openings in Gateshead, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Durham, Darlington and Hartlepool.

Each new restaurant is expected to create around 12 jobs, spanning full-time and part-time in-store roles, bringing the total number of new positions created by the expansion to approximately 120. The brand has not yet confirmed an opening date for the first restaurant but expects openings to begin within the next few months.

Founded in 2020 by Ajmal Mushtaq and based in Hamilton, Scotland, Boss Pizza built its early reputation on fast home delivery before expanding into franchising as part of a stated ambition to grow into a national pizza chain. The brand has previously signaled plans to grow its UK footprint significantly through a network of franchise partners, and the North East rollout represents one of its most concentrated pushes into a single region so far.

Opening 10 restaurants across seven towns and cities within a short window means staffing each location at close to the same time, a logistical challenge for any fast-growing franchise. Gorilla Dash offers a Recruitment feature designed to help franchise brands organize candidates and manage hiring pipelines across multiple new locations simultaneously, keeping staffing on track as stores prepare to open.

The North East expansion adds to Boss Pizza's broader growth ambitions in the UK's pizza delivery market, as the brand continues building out its franchise network across England and Scotland.
