Body Fit Training (BFT), the Australian-founded fitness franchise known for its science-based group training, is accelerating its international growth with a major expansion into the Middle East and North Africa. Under a newly signed master franchise agreement, BFT will establish more than 50 locations across key markets in the region, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.
Leading the regional rollout is Dr. Mohamed Abdou, whose connection to the brand began at BFT Leicester in the United Kingdom. Now overseeing the brand’s MENA development, he brings both firsthand passion and strategic vision to the expansion. The journey has already begun with the launch of a flagship studio in Doha, Qatar, which spans approximately 1,000 square meters—currently the largest BFT facility globally.
“BFT offers an unmatched fitness experience, blending scientifically backed training with cutting-edge technology and a strong community atmosphere,” Dr. Abdou said. The brand’s distinctive format combines progressive strength and conditioning workouts with data-driven insights, aiming to serve both dedicated fitness enthusiasts and casual members.
With its regional headquarters now based in Qatar, BFT’s expansion plan includes the opening of flagship studios in Riyadh, Dubai, and Kuwait City over the next 12 months. Global CEO of BFT International, Richard Burnet, expressed confidence in the region’s potential: “With Dr. Mohamed Abdou’s leadership and a shared vision for delivering exceptional fitness experiences, we are confident that the BFT brand will thrive in this vibrant market.”
BFT was recently named Australian International Franchisor of the Year, a recognition that underscores its growing influence in the global fitness industry. With over 300 locations worldwide and a growing footprint in Asia, Europe, and North America, the brand is now positioning itself as a leader in the MENA fitness market.
