Batteries Plus has renewed its partnership with the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program for the holiday season, committing to donate batteries for one million toys. The collaboration aims to ensure that gifts distributed to children arrive ready for use, addressing a common issue in toy donations when batteries are not included. The initiative blends seasonal generosity with practical impact at a time when many families are facing financial strain.
The retailer has launched a “Buy One, Give One” promotion to support the effort. For every purchase of a 24-pack of Energizer MAX AA or AAA batteries, Batteries Plus will donate another pack to Toys for Tots. Chief Executive Scott Williams said the goal is to bring joy to children while giving customers a chance to contribute meaningfully during the holidays. The promotion is paired with a five-dollar discount on select battery packs through the end of the year, making participation accessible to more shoppers.
Customers can also donate new, unwrapped toys at participating Batteries Plus locations. While holiday giving is the centerpiece of the program, the retailer and Toys for Tots are expanding their campaign into disaster relief. Toys for Tots continues to distribute toys year-round to children affected by crisis, and Batteries Plus has already supplied 18,000 battery packs to families impacted by wildfires in Los Angeles and hurricanes in Florida.
Colonel Ted Silvester of Toys for Tots said toys provide a sense of stability for children who have experienced hardship, noting that a new toy can restore a sense of normalcy during difficult circumstances. With ongoing demand for both holiday support and disaster relief, the renewed partnership underscores a shared commitment to service. Batteries Plus and Toys for Tots expect the combined effort to support families well beyond the holiday season.
