Camp Bow Wow is expanding its footprint in North Texas with a three-unit franchise agreement that will bring new pet care facilities to Weatherford, Burleson and Granbury. The agreement with Fort Worth entrepreneurs Trinity Shields and Abigale Freeman is among the latest commitments under Camp Bow Wow’s recently introduced reduced-investment prototype, which lowers the initial investment by more than $400,000 compared with the company’s traditional model. The new approach is designed to provide greater flexibility in site selection while making multi-unit expansion more accessible.
The agreement allows Shields and Freeman to build a multi-unit business around a brand they said aligned with their priorities. The married couple discovered Camp Bow Wow while researching franchise opportunities and were drawn to its operating systems, culture and emphasis on dog safety. Freeman said the company stood out because its values appeared to place the well-being of dogs and the experience of pet parents alongside financial considerations.
The new prototype has already been introduced through similar buildouts in Dulles, Virginia, and Gallatin, Tennessee. Camp Bow Wow said the model is intended to give franchisees a more practical path to expansion without compromising the customer experience. Mark Jameson, chief development officer of Propelled Brands, the parent company of Camp Bow Wow, said the early momentum around the model reflects interest among franchise candidates in more efficient investment structures.
For Shields and Freeman, the expansion is intended to be rooted in the communities they will serve. They plan to work with local veterinarians, rescue organizations and animal shelters while developing neighborhood destinations for dog daycare, boarding, grooming and enrichment services. The Weatherford location is expected to open first, followed by the units in Burleson and Granbury.
As franchisees move from one location to several, keeping operating knowledge accessible can become increasingly important. Gorilla Dash includes a Knowledge Base that can help franchise teams organize training materials, operational guidance and other information in one place. That kind of centralized resource can support consistency as new employees join the business and additional locations come online. For Camp Bow Wow, the Texas expansion pairs a lower-investment development model with a multi-unit growth strategy as Shields and Freeman begin building their presence across North Texas.
