Wireless Zone has turned to one of its own to lead the next stage of its growth, appointing longtime franchisee Al Pellecchia as Executive Vice President. The promotion marks a pivotal moment for the wireless retail chain, which continues to strengthen its position in an increasingly competitive market. Pellecchia brings firsthand knowledge of the franchise experience, offering a unique perspective on the company’s operational and cultural DNA.
His journey began modestly while he was still in college, selling phones to make ends meet. That early exposure to the industry eventually evolved into a career spanning roles with AT&T, Nextel, and Sprint, where he refined his expertise in retail management and customer service. After returning to Verizon through a kiosk position, he quickly rose through the ranks, joining the Wireless Zone franchise network in 2009. Over the years, Pellecchia has built a thriving business of 12 stores across the greater Boston area, with more under development.
In his new role, Pellecchia is focusing on tightening operational systems and reinvigorating franchise support. He has already begun reorganizing managerial roles to prioritize in-store visits, strengthen team morale, and boost sales performance. At the same time, he is overseeing efforts to automate certain processes, aiming to free up staff from routine tasks and allow them to focus more on customer relationships and business growth. His leadership philosophy centers on empowering employees and ensuring that every store operates at its highest potential.
Pellecchia has described the promotion as both a personal and professional milestone. “When I learned about this role, I was excited, as I have great relationships with the owners and know that the strength of a brand comes from the people behind it,” he said. His commitment to franchisees is at the core of his approach, blending empathy with an entrepreneurial mindset honed over years of hands-on experience.
Scott Moorehead, CEO of Round Room LLC, Wireless Zone’s parent company, said Pellecchia’s appointment reflects the company’s dedication to promoting talent from within and staying connected to the realities of franchise operations. He believes that Pellecchia’s combination of business acumen and field experience will be crucial as the company pursues its goal of expanding to 1,000 locations nationwide. For Wireless Zone, the move signals not just a leadership change but a renewed focus on growth driven by those who know the business from the ground up.
