Fast-casual chicken specialists Wingers marked a major milestone in June 2025 by celebrating their fifth anniversary with the simultaneous opening of two new outlets: one in Columbus Quarter, Andover, and the other in Olive Lane, Rotherham. These launches bring the brand’s total UK store count to 16, reinforcing its growing presence in the fast-casual dining space. Each location delivers Wingers’ hallmark offerings—freshly made buttermilk-fried chicken, bold signature sauces, and indulgent sides.
Co-founder and operations director Amran Sunner described the dual opening as a milestone moment, stating, “Opening two restaurants on the same day is a first for Wingers, and what a way to celebrate five years in business.” As part of the festivities, the first 100 customers at both locations on June 25 received four complimentary wings, available for dine-in or takeaway, adding a generous community-focused touch to the brand’s expansion.
Founded in June 2020 as a family-run dark kitchen, Wingers began franchising in late 2022. By the end of 2024, five new stores had joined the network, and the company is on track to open eight additional outlets by the close of 2025. Their long-term vision includes reaching 50 locations across the UK by 2027.
Known for an eclectic and flavor-packed menu—from classic wings and boneless tenders to loaded jerk fries, mac and cheese bites, burgers, wraps, and playful milkshakes—Wingers continues to evolve. The brand operates primarily via a franchising model, aligning with transport hubs, leisure venues, and local bars to tap into high-traffic markets.
Reflecting on the company’s origins, Sunner added, “Since we set up in our dark kitchen during COVID, my brother Dylan and I—supported by our incredible team—have seen the business go from strength to strength.” The brand’s expansion is supported by ongoing investments in production infrastructure and a national marketing engine designed to empower its franchise partners.
The Rotherham outlet also forms part of the Olive Lane regeneration project, which aims to deliver housing, retail, and social infrastructure to a growing residential population projected to expand significantly by 2029. This strategic positioning underscores Wingers’ commitment to embedding itself in fast-developing communities and riding the momentum of local growth.
