Toastique will open its newest Southern California location on December 13 in Porter Ranch, bringing its health-forward menu of gourmet toasts, smoothie bowls, cold-pressed juices and coffee to the San Fernando Valley. The launch is part of the brand’s continued West Coast expansion and will include a First 100 Guests promotion that rewards early visitors with $50 in Toastique rewards dollars with a qualifying purchase. Doors are set to open at 7a.m. daily.
The new restaurant will be operated by William and Kristin Calderwood, a husband-and-wife team whose interest in the concept began after their son’s health scare prompted a complete reevaluation of food choices within their household. The couple credits that experience with changing the way they approach eating and nutrition, and they say Toastique’s focus on whole ingredients and scratch-made recipes aligned naturally with the lifestyle they adopted for their family. “Our son’s diagnosis really helped us change our approach to food as a whole including how we look at it, buy it and eat it,” Kristin Calderwood said.
The Porter Ranch location sits in the Vineyards shopping center, surrounded by fitness and wellness businesses that attract health-conscious residents. The Calderwoods believe the area is primed for Toastique’s format, which offers an alternative to traditional quick-service dining by placing emphasis on nutrient density and thoughtful sourcing. They hope to cultivate a space that feels welcoming to guests seeking convenience without sacrificing quality, whether they stop by after a workout or during a lunch break.
With this opening, Toastique continues to position itself as a leader in the growing sector of nutritional fast casual. The brand’s expansion reflects a larger shift in consumer preferences toward meals that support health and comfort at the same time. For the Porter Ranch community, the new café aims to deliver dining that is both satisfying and purposeful, reinforcing the notion that fast food can also be mindful food.
