In the fiercely competitive arena of Buffalo wings, Wing It On! emerged as the evening’s undisputed champion at this year’s National Buffalo Wing Festival. Held over Labor Day weekend before an enthusiastic crowd of more than 60,000 fans, the brand earned recognition in every flavor category it entered, marking a milestone moment for the franchise.
For the first time in its history, Wing It On! not only entered but excelled across the board—landing first-place trophies in two categories. Its Medium Traditional Buffalo sauce was crowned America’s Best, while the bold Garlic Parm-fredo flavor captured top honors in the Savory division. The accolades continued with a second-place finish in BBQ and a respectable third in the Hot category. These placements signal a brand that has sharpened its culinary edge and broadened its appeal.
Adding spectacle to the celebration, pro eater James Webb triumphed in the Wing It On! U.S. Chicken Wing Eating Championship, delivering a performance that channeled the energy of the famed Nathan’s Hot Dog Contest. Webb’s record-setting feat further underscored the brand’s presence in the festival’s most thrilling moments.
Co-founder and brand president Matt Ensero framed the festival as the premier battleground of the industry. “Wing Fest is the title fight of our industry,” he said, describing how Wing It On!’s success demonstrates that passionate upstarts—armed with grit, innovation, and unwavering effort—can stand toe-to-toe with established players. His words speak not just to flavor but to the competitive spirit fueling the brand’s rise.
Sam Stanovich, the SVP of franchise development, echoed that confidence, noting, “Winning nearly twice as many awards at the most competitive event in the wing world speaks volumes about what we’re building.” For Stanovich, the festival results validate both product quality and the strength of the franchise model. Wing It On! emerges not merely as a wing joint but as an igniting force poised for expansion.
Beyond competition, Wing It On!’s menu continues to impress. Guests can expect perfectly crispy wings, bold sauces, and house-made dips, alongside chicken sandwiches, tenders, wraps, and crave-worthy sides. This menu versatility ensures appeal across dine-in, take-out, catering, and delivery channels—cementing the brand’s place in multiple consumer touchpoints.
