Slim Chickens is taking its UK expansion into the drive-thru market with a new location at Broughton Shopping Park in North Wales. The restaurant is scheduled to open October 6 and will mark the brand’s first drive-thru in Great Britain. Boparan Restaurant Group, which operates Slim Chickens in the UK, plans to use the Broughton site as a blueprint for additional drive-thru locations as the brand expands its footprint.
The opening is designed to generate plenty of activity from the start. Customers arriving in a red car on opening day will receive free chicken tenders and a house dip, while the first 50 guests arriving on foot will also receive free tenders. The first 5,000 drive-thru customers will receive limited-edition Slims Driver’s Licences containing unique codes that can be entered through the Slim Chickens UK app for rewards including tenders, sandwiches, hand-spun shakes and Texas Toast. One licence will unlock a weekly Slim Chickens meal worth up to £14.95 for life.
The Broughton restaurant will offer the brand’s established menu of buttermilk-marinated chicken tenders, wings, sandwiches, wraps and salads, alongside hand-spun shakes, Texas Toast and 15 house sauces. Games, giveaways and interactive activities are also planned for opening day, giving the new drive-thru a launch built around both convenience and customer engagement.
For franchise organizations using limited-time promotions to attract customers, Gorilla Dash offers a Competitions and Promotions feature that can help coordinate campaign details, promotional initiatives and customer engagement activities across locations. Such an organization can be useful when a franchise network is managing campaigns that need consistent execution across multiple markets.
The Broughton opening also reflects a broader shift in Slim Chickens’ UK development strategy. The brand already has a drive-thru in Northern Ireland, while the new Great Britain format gives Boparan Restaurant Group another operating model to develop as it pursues further drive-thru growth across England.
