Fantasy football season has arrived, and Schlotzsky’s is putting its own twist on the competition. The brand known for its sandwiches and pizzas has introduced the Fantasy Football Ultimate Original Team Name-Off, a contest designed to inspire creativity while fueling game-day gatherings.
From September 8 through September 12, fans can submit their most inventive team names. A witty play on “The Meaty Blitz” or a pun like “Sourdough Slammers” might be enough to impress the judges. The grand prize is more than simple recognition. The winner will receive a fully catered watch party for their entire league, complete with custom swag and the kind of spread that makes a season memorable.
The competition does not end with submissions. Beginning September 16, fans will vote each week to decide who advances through the bracket until the champion is crowned. Every round comes with exclusive food offers, ensuring participants enjoy both the contest and the cuisine.
Donna Josephson, Chief Brand Officer of Schlotzsky’s, highlighted the connection between football and food. “Football season is not only about the competition but also the food,” she said. “Our fans cherish their teams, but what truly fuels the game is good food.”
The promotion also aligns with new offerings at Schlotzsky’s. Alongside its signature The Original® sandwich and specialty pizzas, the chain has introduced a weekend pizza deal where pies start at $5 after 5 p.m. from Friday through Sunday. The timing is tailored for watch parties and gatherings that mark football season.
On September 16, Schlotzsky’s will announce the eight finalists across its social media channels. Voting will then continue each Tuesday through Thursday until October 2. Three semi-finalists will take home branded merchandise and a $150 gift card, while one winner will earn the grand prize. The contest ensures that many participants will walk away with both bragging rights and delicious rewards.
