Raine & Horne has appointed Benjamin McDonald as its first Chief Strategy Officer for Australasia, a milestone move that signals the real estate group’s commitment to long-term growth, innovation, and cross-functional alignment.
With over 15 years of leadership experience across the energy, real estate, urban development, and transport sectors in both Australasia and North America, McDonald brings a depth of expertise well-suited to the evolving property landscape. His track record includes serving as Chief Strategy Officer at U.S.-based Storz Power and Australian commercial property data firm Arealytics, where he played key roles in organizational restructuring, investment acquisition, and platform development.
In his new role, McDonald will be responsible for enterprise-wide transformation, innovation strategies, and operational cohesion across the Raine & Horne network. His focus will be on aligning business development initiatives with the company’s long-standing reputation and future-facing goals.
“Raine & Horne has an incredible 142-year legacy and an ambitious vision for the future,” McDonald said. “My focus will be on aligning strategic initiatives with that vision—whether through innovation, new growth avenues, or more seamless collaboration across departments.”
Chris Nicholl, CEO of Raine & Horne, emphasized that McDonald’s appointment represents more than just a structural change. “Benjamin’s appointment is part of our broader strategy to grow the business and ensure we’re positioned to deliver exceptional results for our principals, agents, property managers, and partners well into the future,” he said.
McDonald’s arrival comes at a time when real estate businesses across the region are adapting to shifts in technology, market expectations, and operational agility. By appointing a dedicated strategy executive, Raine & Horne aims to sharpen its competitive edge and support franchisees through evolving market conditions.
McDonald shared his excitement about the appointment on LinkedIn, describing it as a privilege to contribute to the growth of an iconic Australian business. His leadership is expected to strengthen Raine & Horne’s position as a future-ready real estate network, driven by innovation and client value.
