Popeyes is preparing to open its 100th restaurant in the United Kingdom, marking a significant moment for the fast-growing American fried chicken chain. The new location will debut inside London Bridge Station on November 25, four years after the brand’s arrival in the country at Westfield Stratford. The station’s heavy foot traffic and steady commuter flow offer the company a strategic setting for its next phase of growth.
The restaurant spans two floors and is designed to accommodate both dine-in and takeaway customers. London Bridge Station serves tens of millions of passengers each year, making it one of the busiest travel hubs in the capital. Popeyes UK chief executive Tom Crowley described reaching the 100-location milestone as an extraordinary achievement and credited the brand’s momentum to the appeal of its hand-breaded chicken and the consistency of its customer experience.
Private equity firm TDR Capital has supported the chain’s rapid expansion across the country. Popeyes is now pursuing an ambitious 2025 development pipeline that includes nearly fifty additional restaurants. The company believes that strong consumer demand and growing familiarity with the brand provide room for further national scale.
The milestone comes at a time when the United Kingdom is experiencing heightened competition across the fried chicken sector. Rivals such as Wingstop and Chick-fil-A are expanding their footprints, and independent operators continue to attract loyal customers. Even with the rising number of players, Crowley maintains confidence in the market. He said the company’s performance reflects a strong appetite for quality quick-service dining and signaled that Popeyes intends to continue building its presence across major cities and transport hubs.
