In a region already buzzing with the enthusiasm for pickleball, PickleRage is setting the stage for a new indoor playground in Portage, MI. From its soon-to-open location in Romence Plaza, this club aims to become the heartbeat of pickleball culture in Southwest Michigan.
Owned by a local franchisee who's as passionate about pickleball as they are about community, the club will open its spacious doors late in 2025. With at least ten indoor courts set to lure in players of all skill levels, PickleRage promises an experience that's not just about competition, but camaraderie as well.
“Southwest Michigan is ready for a dedicated pickleball facility, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to lead the charge,” declared the franchisee, echoing the sentiments of a community hungry for recreational space. The West Bloomfield location has already demonstrated the potential for packed social mixers and enthusiastic leagues, foreshadowing similar success in Portage.
But it’s not just about the sport; it’s about lifestyle. The expansive Portage layout will include a player’s lounge and a retail store, emphasizing that PickleRage isn’t merely a place to hit balls, but rather a hub for social interaction and growth. As Chris Daiss, VP of Real Estate and Construction at PickleRage states, “This club will be a cornerstone for the pickleball community in Western Michigan, offering a top-tier indoor experience that’s built to grow with demand.”
The excitement doesn't end there. With over 106,000 residents nearby and a shopping center boasts visibility that even non-pickleballers can’t ignore, PickleRage is strategically positioned to capture the essence of a vibrant, active lifestyle. This is no haphazard venture; rather, it’s a well-thought-out step in enhancing the local landscape with indoor pickleball courts.
“We’re thrilled to deepen our presence in the region,” added David Smith, COO of the company, highlighting the undeniable enthusiasm for the sport. With leagues, lessons, clinics, and social events in the pipeline, one thing is clear: Portage is about to transform into a pickleball paradise. Get ready to serve, volley, and socialize!
