MRCO is preparing a major expansion in the Southeast with plans to open 34 Hawaiian Bros Island Grill restaurants across North Carolina, West Central Georgia and North Alabama. The move positions the long-standing multi-unit operator to introduce a fast-growing concept to regions where it has extensive market knowledge and real estate experience. With nearly 90 Taco Bell locations in its portfolio and more than four decades in franchising, MRCO is applying the scale and operational discipline it has built across its legacy brands to support the rollout of Hawaiian Bros.
This expansion is being directed by MRCO’s second-generation leadership team, which includes Amin Ferdowsi, Imaan Ferdowsi, Shareef Aminmadani and Shabnam Aminmadani. Their focus on real estate selection, construction planning, training and operational execution reflects the company’s methodical approach to entering new markets. The first Hawaiian Bros restaurant under this development plan is expected to debut in early 2026, marking the beginning of a multi-state deployment supported by centralized systems and franchising experience.
The leadership team expressed a deep enthusiasm for the partnership and the growth opportunities ahead. “We are thrilled to be joining the Hawaiian Bros family and increasing the brand’s presence in Southeast markets that we know and love,” said Amin Ferdowsi. He emphasized that both the craveability of the island-inspired menu and the community-focused culture played a key role in the decision to invest in the brand. The company views the expansion as a strategic fit with its long-term goals of diversifying beyond traditional quick-service formats while maintaining high operating standards.
Hawaiian Bros leadership has also voiced confidence in the partnership and MRCO’s ability to scale the concept with precision. Carey Malloy, Chief Development Officer at Hawaiian Bros, described MRCO as an ideal operator for accelerating the brand’s next phase of growth. The development agreement represents a broader trend in franchising in which seasoned multi-unit operators help emerging brands strengthen their presence through regional expertise and organizational scale. As opening preparations continue, the collaboration between MRCO and Hawaiian Bros is poised to introduce new jobs, new dining options and a fresh culinary identity across the Southeast.
