MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes is expanding its Utah footprint with an additional six-unit development agreement signed by franchisees Art and Nick Depole. The new restaurants will span Salt Lake, Davis and Utah counties, with another location planned for St. George in Washington County. The first new restaurant is projected to open by summer 2027.
The agreement builds on a four-location Utah portfolio that includes restaurants in Provo, Riverton, Sandy and South Jordan. The Depole brothers have expanded their presence in the state since taking over the Provo location in 2022, later adding restaurants in Sandy, South Jordan and Riverton. MOOYAH says the Utah restaurants consistently rank among the strongest performers in its system, with Provo benefiting from its proximity to Brigham Young University and Sandy serving a busy business district.
Art Depole said his relationship with MOOYAH began when he discovered the brand as a customer while living in California. His experience with the concept ultimately led to franchise ownership, and the brothers now plan to apply what they have learned from their existing Utah restaurants as they enter additional markets across the state.
For multi-unit franchisees, expanding a successful portfolio also brings greater pressure to track performance consistently across locations. Gorilla Dash includes Benchmarking tools that can help franchise teams compare operational results, identify performance differences and use those insights when evaluating opportunities across a growing network.
MOOYAH currently operates about 80 locations in the United States and internationally and continues to pursue additional franchise growth. For the Depoles, the six-unit agreement represents another step in a Utah strategy that has already grown from a single restaurant into a four-location portfolio, with the next phase now moving toward development in several additional markets.
