MilkShake Factory is set to open its first Connecticut location in Stamford on November 1, 2025, bringing a century-old dessert tradition to a new market. The shop will be located at High Ridge Center, where visitors can join a grand opening celebration from noon to 4 p.m. The event will feature live music, giveaways, and a buy-one-get-one-free offer on the company’s signature shakes and sundaes.
Norissa Weston, the store’s general manager, says the team is eager to become part of Stamford’s lively community. “Families, students, and neighbors are out and about every day,” she said, noting that the area’s steady foot traffic and diverse mix of residents make it an ideal setting for a dessert destination. The shop’s menu will feature signature favorites such as Chocolate Dipped Strawberry and Campfire S’mores, along with seasonal specialties designed to capture the spirit of the holidays.
Each milkshake and sundae will be prepared using MilkShake Factory’s proprietary ice cream, which is made fresh in-store each day. The company prides itself on maintaining time-honored recipes developed by the Edwards family, who have been perfecting their craft for more than four generations. That attention to tradition is part of what has helped the brand grow from a single soda fountain in Pittsburgh into a recognized name in the national dessert scene.
Founded in 1914 by Charlie and Orania Sarandou, the business began as a small chocolate and soda shop in Pennsylvania. Over the years, it evolved under the Edwards family into a full-scale dessert concept that now blends premium confections with contemporary retail design. Today, MilkShake Factory continues to expand across the country, offering franchise opportunities to entrepreneurs who share its focus on quality and hospitality.
The Stamford opening marks another milestone in that expansion. It follows recent launches in Ohio and Indiana, where the company introduced its signature promotions and community-centered events. For Connecticut residents, the arrival of MilkShake Factory offers not only a new place to indulge but also a taste of a legacy that has endured for more than a century.
