Announced in connection with International Women’s Day, the initiative reflects SmartPA’s long-standing commitment to empowerment through practical opportunity. By supporting Refuge’s 4Change campaign, the business support franchise aims to provide survivors with the skills and confidence needed to begin new career journeys.
Refuge works with women and children who have fled domestic abuse, many of whom face the difficult challenge of rebuilding their lives while also seeking financial independence. Through the partnership, SmartPA will offer access to a CPD-accredited training program designed to strengthen professional readiness. The program focuses on modern administrative capabilities as well as career development essentials such as CV writing, interview preparation, and workplace communication.
Marcela Benedetti of Refuge emphasized the importance of opportunities that help survivors regain control of their futures. She noted that leaving abusive situations often forces women to place their careers and personal ambitions on hold. Access to structured training and employment pathways can play a crucial role in restoring confidence and enabling long-term stability.
The initiative also reflects the vision of SmartPA chief executive Sarra Bejaoui, who has consistently advocated for practical empowerment through education and professional support. Demand for accessible professional training continues to grow. During the first half of 2025 alone, SmartPA recorded more than 1,600 new users on its platform, highlighting the increasing need for flexible career development opportunities. By expanding partnerships that combine social impact with practical training, SmartPA and Refuge aim to support thousands of women as they pursue renewed independence and long-term career success.
