Choice Hotels Asia-Pac has relaunched its annual “Check-in for Charity” fundraising campaign, running from August 11 to 17, 2025. During this week, more than 170 hotels across Australia and New Zealand will donate $2 from every completed stay to the Alannah & Madeline Foundation, supporting its vital mission to help children live free from violence and trauma.
The campaign encourages Choice Privileges members to contribute by donating loyalty points to the cause. CEO Trent Fraser emphasised the commitment of franchisees: “We’re proud of the commitment our franchisees show to being community-minded and fostering a fulfilled and engaged workforce.” Many of the participating hotels are family-owned and operate in metropolitan, suburban, and regional communities, strengthening their local connection and aligning with the campaign’s focus on children’s safety.
In addition to guest stays and points donations, Choice Hotels is making a corporate contribution to amplify the effort. Staff are also actively involved in packing “Buddy Bags,” backpacks filled with essential items for vulnerable children facing crises. Last year’s efforts raised over $50,000 in Australia, along with additional support for Cystic Fibrosis NZ in New Zealand.
Fraser reflected on the campaign’s impact, stating simply, “It’s initiatives like these that make a real difference in the community, and we’re committed to supporting this vital work.” The collective involvement of guests, franchisees, staff, and the Choice network underscores the campaign’s resonance and potential for meaningful community impact.
