Chaiiwala, the United Kingdom’s leading Indian street food café brand, is moving forward with a significant expansion in Nottingham through a new partnership with Splendid Hospitality Group. The collaboration will introduce both a drive-thru on Castle Boulevard and a café inside the Victoria Centre, signaling a strategic push to widen the brand’s presence across high-traffic urban locations. Splendid, which operates dozens of KFC outlets across the Midlands, will also assume management of Chaiiwala’s existing Nottingham high street café.
The brand, founded in Leicester in 2015, has grown rapidly across the country and abroad through a menu centered on Karak chai and Indian street food classics. Its network now includes more than one hundred locations in the United Kingdom, along with sites in Canada and Dubai. The Nottingham openings are intended to serve as a model for further growth, combining convenience for quick visits with spaces that support longer, more relaxed dining.
Chaiiwala reported strong financial results for its most recent fiscal year, with system sales rising 35 percent to nearly ninety million pounds. The company’s leadership credits this momentum for fueling an ambition to reach five hundred locations within the next decade. The expansion into Nottingham is expected to play a key role in that effort, offering a testing ground for new formats and operational strategies that can be replicated in other cities.
Sohail Ali, a co-founder of Chaiiwala, said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to working with experienced operators that share its vision for growth. Nadeem Boghani, executive chairman of Splendid Hospitality Group, described the alliance as an investment in the future of casual dining and an opportunity to strengthen the community through carefully selected sites and a familiar, accessible menu. Chaiiwala’s leadership believes the brand’s blend of chai culture and modern convenience will continue to resonate with students, families, and professionals, adding another dimension to Nottingham’s dining landscape.
