Captain D's has expanded its Texas footprint with the opening of a new restaurant in Corsicana, reinforcing the seafood chain's continued growth across one of its fastest-growing markets. Located between Dallas and Houston, the new restaurant strengthens the brand's regional presence while bringing its signature seafood offerings and Southern hospitality to residents of Navarro County. The opening marks Captain D's 19th restaurant in Texas and reflects the company's ongoing investment in strategic franchise development.
The 1,950-square-foot restaurant seats 44 guests and showcases Captain D's updated coastal-inspired design. Customers can enjoy the brand's signature menu, including its 100% Wild Caught Batter Dipped Fish from Alaska, hand-breaded chicken tenders, grilled seafood, butterfly shrimp and Nashville hot fish. Designed to serve both residents and travelers, the new location blends a modern dining environment with the familiar comfort that has defined the brand for decades.
The Corsicana restaurant is owned and operated by veteran multi-unit franchisee Joseph Omobogie, whose portfolio includes Captain D's, Golden Chick, Marco's Pizza, Thai Express and Tropical Smoothie Cafe. His extensive experience operating multiple restaurant concepts positioned him as a strong partner for the expansion. Brad Reed, Chief Development Officer of Captain D's, said Omobogie's operational expertise and proven ability to scale successful businesses make him an ideal franchisee as the company continues building its presence throughout Texas.
As restaurant franchise systems expand into new markets, maintaining a consistent customer experience across every location becomes increasingly important. Platforms such as Gorilla Dash support growing franchise networks through Branded Stores, helping franchisors maintain consistent branding, location information and customer experiences while allowing individual restaurants to showcase their local identity. The approach enables expanding brands to scale without losing the consistency customers expect.
Founded in 1969, Captain D's has grown to more than 530 restaurants across 23 states and three countries, making it one of the largest seafood restaurant franchises in the United States. The Corsicana opening is another step in the company's long-term growth strategy, pairing experienced franchise leadership with markets with strong expansion potential. For Captain D's, the newest Texas location is another example of how strategic franchise partnerships continue to drive sustainable growth while strengthening connections with local communities.
