Franchise deal led by seasoned restaurateurs brings the Broken Yolk Café brand to Downey and beyond

  • Broken Yolk Café announces a deal for four new locations.
  • First location set to open in Downey in early 2026.
  • The Corona family has a rich history in hospitality.

Broken Yolk Café, a rapidly growing name in full-service breakfast and brunch dining, is advancing its presence in California through a new multi-unit franchise agreement that will bring four new locations to Southeast Los Angeles County. The first café is planned for Downey, located at 8224 Firestone Boulevard, with the opening targeted within the next development cycle.

This expansion is led by John, Bryant, and Jason Corona, along with their father Juan Corona and uncle Saul DeLa Rosa. The family brings deep industry experience and a legacy rooted in restaurant operations, beginning with Juan Corona's history as the first franchisee of El Pollo Loco in 1981. They currently manage several Movita Juice Bar locations, and this new agreement marks their entry into full-service dining.

The decision to join the Broken Yolk Café franchise network came after the family dined at one of the brand’s Las Vegas locations, where they were impressed by the quality of the food and welcoming service. “The experience really stuck with us,” said John Corona. “We saw not just a great concept, but a brand with strong leadership and a clear vision.”

John Gelastopoulos, President of Broken Yolk Café, welcomed the Corona family to the system, highlighting their commitment to hospitality and community values. “Their people-first approach aligns closely with our brand, and they are an ideal team to help us expand the ‘Brunch on the Sunnyside’ experience across the region,” he said.

With this deal, Broken Yolk Café continues to solidify its reputation as a leading franchise in the breakfast category, offering made-from-scratch dishes and personalized service. The move signals ongoing confidence in the growth of suburban markets and the enduring popularity of experiential dining.
