The Human Bean in Avondale, Arizona has entered a new chapter with the transition to new franchise ownership under Jeff and Kelly Walters, effective January 1, 2026. The Phoenix based couple brings prior experience to the location at 1547 North Dysart Road, marking their second investment within The Human Bean system following the successful operation of their Phoenix drive thru.
The Walters approach the Avondale location with a commitment to preserving the brand’s emphasis on quality and community connection. Jeff Walters described their role as extending beyond serving beverages, emphasizing a culture rooted in hospitality and personal service. Their vision reflects The Human Bean’s broader philosophy of creating welcoming neighborhood spaces rather than simply transactional coffee stops.
Under the leadership of chief executive officer Dan Hawkins, The Human Bean has continued to expand through franchise partners who prioritize local engagement. Hawkins noted that franchisees across the system are growing within their communities, adding locations while maintaining strong relationships with customers and neighbors. That approach has helped reinforce brand loyalty and long term stability across markets.
Philanthropy remains a central component of the brand’s identity. The Avondale location participates in systemwide initiatives such as the Food Drive Giveback and Coffee for a Cure Day, which collectively raise significant funds for hunger relief and cancer prevention. These efforts allow customers to support meaningful causes as part of their everyday routines.
With new ownership in place, The Human Bean of Avondale is positioned to continue serving as both a neighborhood coffee destination and a community partner. The Walters’ expansion reflects confidence in the brand’s mission and signals continued momentum for The Human Bean as it grows through experienced, community focused franchise operators.
