Ace Hardware has officially launched its new Retail Support Center (RSC) in Kansas City, Missouri, marking a significant expansion in the company’s national distribution network. Spanning more than 1.5 million square feet, the facility is one of the largest of its kind in Ace’s history and represents a major milestone in the company's commitment to supporting over 5,000 independently owned retail stores across the United States.
Strategically located along Interstate 29 and near Kansas City International Airport, the new RSC improves Ace’s logistical capabilities by enabling faster and more efficient delivery of products to retail locations nationwide. The size of the facility—nearly double that of a typical Ace distribution center—was deliberately chosen to meet the growing demand from local retailers and ensure timely restocking for communities that rely on personalized hardware service.
John Venhuizen, President and CEO of Ace Hardware, emphasized that the project stands as a testament to collaboration and long-term vision. More than just a physical structure, the RSC serves as a critical lifeline for retailers who depend on dependable product supply to meet customer needs. In addition to strengthening the supply chain, the facility is creating more than 350 permanent jobs in the region, with approximately 100 temporary roles supported during its construction.
The Kansas City RSC also advances Ace’s focus on sustainability and technology. Equipped with modern automation systems and designed with environmentally responsible practices, the facility aligns with the company’s broader goals of innovation and stewardship. Its excellence in both design and impact was recently recognized with a 2025 Capstone Award from the Kansas City Business Journal, further validating Ace’s role as a leader in retail distribution and corporate responsibility.
As the hardware retailer continues to expand its national footprint, this new center reflects Ace’s long-term investment in both operational excellence and the independent retailers it serves. With a clear focus on speed, scale, and sustainability, the Kansas City RSC is positioned to support the brand’s growth for years to come.
