Between Rounds Bakery Sandwich Café has announced the promotion of Chris Puiia to the role of Production Manager, marking a new chapter in the company’s rich family legacy. As the third generation to join the business, Chris follows in the footsteps of his grandfather Vito, who first launched the brand in Hoboken, New Jersey, and his father Jerry, who co-founded and expanded the café’s presence across Connecticut.
In his new role, Chris is responsible for overseeing daily production at the company’s Vernon headquarters. His duties span managing wholesale and retail inventory, coordinating delivery logistics, and ensuring that each store maintains the quality and consistency that Between Rounds is known for. Additionally, he leads marketing initiatives designed to keep customers engaged with the brand’s rotating menu of daily specials and fresh offerings.
Before rejoining the family enterprise, Chris gained valuable professional experience as an Account Manager at Foundation Management & Pro-Productions, a Massachusetts-based executive event production firm. There, he honed his skills in logistics, operations, and client service—experience that now informs his strategic approach to managing the café’s growing operations.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management with a minor in Business Administration from Endicott College. His education, combined with his professional background, positions him to drive efficiency and innovation while preserving the company’s core values and culinary standards.
Working closely with his uncle Joseph Puiia and father Jerry at the South Windsor headquarters, Chris brings fresh energy and a long-term vision to the business. His leadership ensures that Between Rounds continues to deliver high-quality, on-site baked bagels and signature café items that have made it a regional favorite for more than three decades.
Jerry Puiia expressed pride in his son’s advancement, noting that Chris learned the business from the ground up and is well-prepared to take on a leading role in its continued success.
