A component is a piece of a page built once and used in many places — a services grid, a testimonial band, a call to action, a team section.
Components and their content
| Piece | What it is |
|---|---|
| Component | The reusable structure. |
| Content section | A grouping of content within it. |
| Content items | The individual entries — each card in a grid, each item in a list. |
When to build one
- The same block appears on three or more pages.
- It changes regularly, and you do not want to edit it in six places.
- It has to be identical everywhere — a legal note, a set of accreditations.
Building a component for something used once is more work than it saves. Wait until the second or third use.
Tribes and components
Tribes have their own components list too, so a location can have pieces that are genuinely theirs — their team, their premises — alongside the shared ones.
CHANGING A COMPONENT CHANGES EVERY PAGE USING IT
