The chatbot sits on your website and answers visitors' questions from your own published content — the pages on the attached websites, and your FAQs. It can also capture an enquiry from the conversation.
Setting one up
- Give it a name visitors will see.
- Choose where it appears on the page — bottom left or bottom right.
- Set its colours so it belongs to the site.
- Decide what details it should try to collect, and how hard to push for each.
It is only as good as your content
It answers from your published pages and FAQs. A thin site produces a chatbot that cannot help — which is a strong practical argument for writing the FAQs your team answers by phone every week.

PUSHING TOO HARD LOSES THE CONVERSATION
Watching it
Conversations and message counts are recorded. Read a few each week: the questions people ask are the pages you should write, and the answers it got wrong are the content that needs fixing.
